Lannie Kerrigan (Angelina Jolie) is an upwardly mobile, career-focused television reporter with her eye on a network assignment. She has the perfect boyfriend, the perfect apartment and the perfect hair. In fact, she thinks life is perfect until she interviews a homeless man (Tony Shalhoub) who predicts that she will die the following week. Lannie then begins to take a hard look at her life with the help of her longtime nemesis and co-worker Pete (Edward Burns) She finally takes control of her destiny in a touching and hilarious way.
